WHY ORGANIC?
Eating organic foods will help your body over the long term. The less processed foods you eat, the less your body will need to work to process the foods. Please read the definitions below as well as some of our healthy tips.

WHAT DOES “ORGANIC” MEAN?
Simply stated, organic produce and other ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation. Animals that produce meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products do not take antibiotics or growth hormones.

WHAT DOES ALL NATURAL MEAN?
According to the USDA definition, all natural products are those that are minimally processed and contain no artificial ingredients. This definition is meant to indicate that the products are not enhanced with artificial flavor additives.

WHAT DOES ANTIBIOTIC-FREE MEAN?
A product that is labeled as Antibiotic-Free comes from an animal that has never been given antibiotics.

WHAT DOES FREE-RANGE MEAN?
Free-Range poultry has been allowed access to the outside, rather than being kept in cages and treated inhumanely.

WHAT IS SPELT?
It is one of the first grains to be grown by early farmers as long ago as 5,000 BC. The grain is naturally high in fiber, and contains significantly more protein than wheat. Spelt is also higher in B complex vitamins, and both simple and complex carbohydrates. Another important benefit is that some gluten-sensitive people have been able to include spelt-based foods in their diets. Also, unlike other grains, spelt's husk protects it from pollutants and insects and usually allows growers to avoid using pesticides.

WHAT IS GLUTEN?
Gluten is a cohesive, elastic protein found in wheat, rye, oats, and barley. Glutent intolerance is called Celiac Disease.



HEALTHY TIPS
TIP ON DRINKING WATER
Divide your weight by 2 and that’s the number of ounces you need to drink of water every day. For example, if you weigh 120 pounds, you need to drink 60 ounces of water per day or 6 regular size cups per day.

TIPS ON LOSING WEIGHT
Replace all your beverages, sodas and juices with water and you will shed more weight than you think.

Eat whole wheat instead of white flour. Whole wheat is a complex carbohydrate which means it takes a while for your body to break down so you will feel full for a longer period of time, thus causing you to snack less.

It doesn’t matter what Atkins said or what Jenny Craig says or whoever, it’s all about CALORIES IN versus CALORIES OUT. If you expend more calories than you take in, you will lose weight.

If you are to pick ONE THING to eat that’s organic, pick organic dairy.
The dairy industry is the most processed industry today.
Non-organic dairy is filled with hormones that actually promote early puberty in children.
Non-organic dairy also promotes allergies and lactose intolerance.
